Ask A Childbirth Educator Questions and Answer
Q. My daughter just found out she is pregnant. She went to the doctor yesterday
and her doctor told her she has an enlarged uterus. Is this something I should
be concerned about?
A.
No not unless there is anything else going on (if she has history of fibroids
for example). The uterus normally enlarges in pregnancy. If it is a little
larger than her dates it probably means the baby had a growth spurt, or she is
a little off on her dates and again is most likely nothing to be concerned
about. In later months the growth of the uterus should even out.
