Ask A Childbirth Educator Questions and Answer
Q.Is it possible for a woman to get pregnant and still have her period every
month?
A.
Possible but extremely rare and after the first few months the periods usually
stop. Periods during pregnancy, if they are present at all, tend to be lighter
and shorter.
Some women mistake implantation bleeding with a period. Implantation bleeding
occurs about ten days or so after conception, due to the fertilized egg
implanting into the lining of the uterus. Implantation bleeding is often just
a day or so of spotting, and as it occurs near to when a woman might expect
her period, it can be confused.
