Ask A Childbirth Educator Questions and Answer
Q. I'm only 17 weeks along, and this is my first pregnancy - I'm wondering
why and what this clear secretion is coming out of my breasts. Is this
normal?
A.
A clear to yellow discharge from the breasts is usually normal in pregnancy.
It is colostrum, the first food for your baby. It is not anything to worry
about. Some women have signs of colostrum sooner than others, or will have a
lot of colostrum, or will have none visible--this is all normal...
