Questions and Answer

Q. I was pregnant about 2yrs ago and I had an abortion because I was young and could not deal with the matter the guy I was with then I am married to now and we have talked about me becoming pregnant again. I need to know will this affect me or the baby in any way? We are both ready now and want to have one. I need to know this info before I get pregnant because I want the baby and me to be healthy.

A. One previous abortion without complications will not affect your chances at a healthy pregnancy and birth this time around. Sometimes problems may arise after a woman has had several abortions (four and up). To maximize your baby's health, before conception make any necessary nutrition changes in your and your husband's diet, make any needed lifestyle changes (like stopping smoking) and start educating yourselves about your choices and alternatives. Good luck!
