Ask A Midwife

Q. I am 5-6 months pregnant and have not yet consulted a midwife or a GP. I am planning on having a homebirth using a birthing pool for pain relief and possibly the actual birth. I was wondering where to find a midwife who could help me out in London City.

A. Write to MIDWIFERY@aol.com and MTedit@aol.com. They are editors of MIDWFERY TODAY magazine, and they have held a few conferences in London. I am sure they have resources for you to start with. Also try WATERBIRTH@aol.com. This is the email address for Waterbirth, International, an organization that promotes waterbirth, and she maintains a databsse of waterbirth-friendly midwives. Good luck!
