Ask A Midwife

Q. I have a question that hopefully you may be able to help me with. The first day of my last period was November 16/98 and my priod was due on Sunday December 13/98 and it hasn't come and so now it is 2 days late and I am never late, never I am always on time a 28 day cycle. I did a home pregnancy test, which I don't believe in and it came out negative.

A. As of 12/22 you would be 5 weeks plus 1 day pregnant.

Did you do a morning specimum? The tests are fairly accurate but you are early and the hCG levels may not have been high enough to pick up as yet.

You could very well be pregnant and since it is almost another week since you wrote this maybe you know that. Let me know.
