Questions and Answers

Q. I am 37 years old and pregnant by third time after 12 years. My first two pregnancies were wonderful. Now I have around 4 weeks pregnant, I notice that after I go to the restroom the toilet paper is pink and sometimes red yet not as when I have a period. Is this normal? Should I worry about a miscarriage? Your answer will be greatly appreciated.

A. Of course we all worry about spotting in pregnancy, understandable, but many women have spotting that is of no danger. We normally can have spotting after a vaginal exam or sex. If it has been one of those times, we can be of some relief. Always report any blood to your health care provider. Hope you have a great pregnancy-congratulations!
