Ask A Nurse
Questions and Answers

Q. I had an accident and had a foot x-ray done before I knew I was pregnant. It would have been at about the time of conception. What are the risks to my baby?

A. I seriously doubt if it would be a problem, especially since the x-ray was of your foot. They usually cover abdomen with a shield just in case. Even if this was not done it is unlikely that the fetus would have been harmed, due to the timing of the x-ray. You would probably be reassured if you shared your concerns with your practitioner.
