Q. I have heard that performing oral sex on your husband is not a good idea on the days you are trying to get pregnant because the heat kills the sperm. Is this true? Isn't there just as much heat having regular intercourse? Thanks!

A. I have never heard that that is true. It is the testicles that are supposed to be a few degrees lower than body temperature to produce sperm. I wouldn't think this would be contraindicated for becoming pregnant.

She and her husband have been married thirteen years, a great accomplishment these days. She currently teaches in the hospital setting and privately through StorkHelp.
