Baby Girl

I had been having contractions on and off for 2 weeks, nothing major though. My husband was deployed overseas. I was pretty miserble and wanted him there with me. The week before I had went to the dr and I had lost 2 lbs in a week. He questioned me on if I had different shoes one etc. He did a vaginal exam and nothing was happening. 6 days later I went into labor (June 18th 1996) and it was my inlaws Anniversary. The night before I had got in this weird mood and wanted to be left alone. Around 4 am that morning I kept having to go to the bathroom. Just a little at a time. For about a half an hour, I was getting worried that maybe the bag had broke and only leaking. I tried to lay back down, but everytime I had to run to the bathroom again. This time I felt a little pressure in my stomach. I had been having contractions off and on for 2 weeks so I just ignored it. 7 mins later another one came.. Real light but really there. SO i went to the living room and sat down. After an hour of having them at 7 mins apart. I knew what it was. I started walking. At 8 am they were finally at 6 mins apart, but they didnt hurt. I was actually welcoming them. Around 9 am I started spotting, so I woke up my sister n law. Told her it was time. We made it to the hospital in 30 mins. When I walked into the ER. I looked at the lady behind the desk and told her I was in labor. She called for a wheel chair. I really felt stupid being pushed in that, when I was not hurting. They hooked me up to a monitor and the dr made it there by 10 am to check and break my water. We made the phone calls to my husband, my sister and a friend. They all showed up. By then the contractions were 4 mins apart and I still wasnt hurting. They started to progress around noon. I kept having that feeling that I wanted to be left alone, so I kept hiding in the bathroom. The nurses werent to happy with me, cause I wouldnt stay on the fetal monitor for very long. Around 1 pm, they checked me and I was at an 8. The contractions were coming in loud and clear by then. I wanted to take something for the pain, but it was to late. The dr was there and they were warming the baby bed. I did not have any urge to push, I think I only pushed 3 times. They had to use the vaccuum extraction cause she started to turn in the birth canal. She was born at 1:47 PM. It was a very easy pregnancy, I was quite glad that the contractions stayed at minimal for so long. I am Pregnant now and Due again December 25th. (once again my husband is overseas, but he will be home this week. He will have to be gone when I am 39 weeks. I hope he makes it back in time.)
