Triton and Liberty
I was 19 when I found out I was pregnant. I was single and had just broken off
the relationship with the baby's father. Little did I know that there were
actually TWO babies in there. I was 20 weeks pregnant when my midwife told me
that she wanted me to have an ultra sound because I was measuring more that
twenty weeks. The ultrasound was scheduled for two weeks later and that's
when I found out the news.
At first I didn't know what I was going to do, but
as time went on, I became excited. I was due August 27, 1996, but the doctor
told me I would probably have them in July. Surprise, I lasted to 36 weeks,
and had them on August 5th. I went to the doctors that morning and he told me
that I was in labor, but I was only one centimeter dilated. He told me to go
to the hospital then because he didn't want to take any chances.
I was admitted into the hospital at 9:30 a.m. and at 4 p.m. I was only 3 centimeters dilated. It didn't bother me much because I didn't think that the labor was
that bad. I had heard all the horror stories and thought that it would be much
worse than this. By 4:30 I started feeling pushing sensations, my doctor
checked me and I was 9 centimeters dilated. They started preparing me for
delivery and barely got me to the operating room where they were delivering
the babies in case they needed to do an emergency c-section.
By 5:02 p.m. my son Triton Blaine was born. It took me about ten pushes to push him out. At
5:04 p.m., my daughter , Liberty Katlynn was born. I am so glad that the labor
and delivery weren't anything like I had heard they would be. I know everyone
doesn't have an easy delivery, but for all you first time mom's out there
labor is not as scary as everyone makes it sound! If you have any questions,
feel free to email me. My email address is Trilib@aol.com
