I had become pregnant on December 31st or somewhere around that date. So my due date was pretty accurate. I am 19 and I live with my parents.They are wonderful help!! Well, all throughout my pregnancy I had no problems. Not even morning sickness! I was lucky.The only thing was that I had gained 85 pounds!! Whoa!! But you couldnt tell. The doctor didnt see it as a threat so I guess I was fine. About the 8 month of my pregnancy I was sooo eager to have the baby! I wanted to try everything I could to make labor start, but I patiently waited. The 9th month came and I was irritable! I wanted to have this baby! I wasn't even afraid of going into labor.

Well, I finally got my wish on September 21st.I was due September 22nd. I went to the hospital with labor pains at 4pm. I had mild contractions. The day before I had went to my docs appointment and I was only dilated at 2. At the hospital I was still at 2!! Talk about slow! So the nurses monitered me and baby. I wasnt having strong contractions so they made me walk the halls for an hour!

I came back after walking and had dilated to 3! Progress....But then it took all nigh for me to dilate to 4!! They decided to keep me and gave me Pitocin the next day on the 22nd...It was kind of early in the morning. Talk about pain!!! The contractions flew in! Ouch!! I was in so much pain but still only at 4 centimeters.I asked for some pain relief, and I got a shot of demerol.Didn't work at all! Hours went by and I was at 5-6centimeters.They could feel the babys head down below...I had the urge to push!! But my mom wouldn't let me!So I lay in pain and it was 6pm..The doctor checked me and I was at 7.He said I was making slow progress , and by 9pm if I didnt dilate to 10 that I would have a C-Section...I was in s much pain I didnt care! Finally I got my epidural! Pure bliss, but it worked for only about 30 minutes! The contrations were coming every minute now!!! Whoa...I was screaming so loud! So was the girl in the room next to me. *lol* Finally the doc came to check me again. "ok, shes ready! Time to push" he says...I was shocked.I didnt feel the urge to push anymore....But after about 8 pushes, out slid my baby girl!! 7 pounds, 10oz...Next I felt the afterbirth.Yuck! Relief!!! I felt like I had so much energy!!! The doc held her up so I could see her! Despite of her being so gray and purple, she was perfect!!!

While they cleaned her off, I ate! I was starved! That was the most moving day of my life!!!!I will never forget how much pain came to bring me pleasure. Her apgars were 8 & 9..Perfectly healthy baby girl!

Today she is 4 days old and I love her with all my heart! But for some reason I cried, because I missed her being inside of me.I feel sad, but yet happy! Guess its just the postpartum blues!
